Mark joined Crown Media Family Networks, Inc., owner and operator of Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movie Channel, in 1999.

Prior to joining Crown Media, Stolnitz served as a post-production supervisor for Columbia/Tri-Star Television where he designed and oversaw the post-production process for a daily, magazine-formatted program.

From 1994-98, he worked at Starz!/Encore as a producer/writer/editor of on-air promotions where he also created databases and workflows to manage the creative process. Prior to that, he worked at TBS Superstation and also Time Warner’s WGRC-TV in Rochester, N.Y., as a producer of on-air promotions.  His creative efforts have garnered several Telly Awards as well as a CTAM Mark Award. Mark is responsible for the technical processing of all materials for air/playback. He has also created databases and workflows to manage promo creation, program edit processes and all video asset management.

In the podcast, Mark discusses his early use of Quicktime reference files, the advantages of working in a smaller facility and why automation is not always the answer.
